How to Configure the ODBC driver

1. Open QuickBooks.
2. Choose the File menu.
3. Select Utilities > Set Up ODBC.
4. Click on the General tab.
l Choose Use the Company file that's now open in QuickBooks option.
l Enter QuickBooks Data in the Data Source Name.
l Click on the Test Connection to QuickBooks button.
l Important: You must be signed in to your company file as "Admin" to be able to successfully run the test connection.
5. When the message "Test Connection to QuickBooks Successful" appears on the screen, click on OK, then select Apply.
6. Click on the Messages tab.
l Clear the Detail Tracing checkbox (if enabled).
l Choose the Display Optimizer Status Panel checkboxe (if disabled).
l Optional: To view details of what QODBC is working on, select the Display Driver Status Panel then QODBC detailed information will appear on a window above the system tray.
l Click on Apply.
7. Click on the Optimizer tab.
l Choose the Use Optimizer box (if disabled).
l Default recommended path of Optimizer file path is (%AppData%\QODBC Driver for QuickBooks\Optimizer).
l Choose the start of every query (if not selected), then click on Apply.
8. Click on OK to exit the ODBC Driver setup.
After configuring the driver by following all these steps, you can export data to Office applications such as Access, Excel and Word.
